You've optimized your diet and workouts. But do you understand the health of your home?
Time-at-home figure from the National Human Activity Pattern Survey, as traced by BuildingGreen. Indoor/outdoor pollutant ratio: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
We screen the parts of your home that can affect your health — from the air you breathe to the water you drink. We start with the WELL for Residential standard, then go beyond it, adding healthy-home checks WELL doesn't cover, each with its own data-backed threshold. Every finding is marked on track, room to improve, or priority, so you know what's worth a closer look and what's looking good.

Noise disrupts sleep long before it feels loud.
Whether your kitchen makes eating well easy or hard.

Whether your home supports moving or fights it.

Two mothers coming at this from opposite sides — one who spent twenty years measuring buildings, one who spent a decade inside the industry that fills them.
Alexia runs Healthier Places. A decade inside consumer products — grocery storefronts, her own organic food company, and one of the country's biggest household-goods companies — where she learned how little a label tells you. Then came two kids, both under five. She handles what you do about the findings: what to buy, what to skip, and where the marketing is doing the work. She writes Little Green Steps.
Lori is our assessment and measurement partner, and a WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP) — an environmental scientist and public health professional, twenty years into making indoor spaces healthier — including the one she raised two high-schoolers in. She runs the measurement on every visit: the instruments, the thresholds, the readings. She also practices as StrazDwell.

Healthier Places is a service of Green House Ventures, LLC, Berkeley, California. Healthy home assessments are informational environmental assessments intended to help you make decisions about your home. They are not medical advice and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. They are not a home inspection, a code-compliance inspection, a real-estate disclosure, a certified lead inspection or risk assessment under EPA or California regulations, or a mold investigation. Measurements reflect conditions at the time of the visit. Where a finding suggests certified or licensed work is warranted, we will say so and refer you accordingly. Consult a licensed physician about health symptoms. Some product links in our reports and on this site may earn us a commission at no additional cost to you; this does not affect our measurements, findings, or recommendations. Assessments reference applicable criteria and thresholds from the WELL for Residential Standard as benchmarks; WELL AP is a credential held by the individual practitioner, and referencing the standard does not indicate that any property is WELL Certified.
